Oh, and the letters I bought from Lakeshore Learning. They are put out by CTP (Creative Teaching Press) and are the punch-out kind.

Hi Dawn -

The T-shirts I used are a Carson-Dellosa product; just search t-shirts and it'll come up. The faces don't have anything on them, so I don't know for sure where that set came from. I hope this helps!

Thank you, Dawn! I know that I got the letters from Lakeshore Learning and I'm guessing that the kids faces came from there, too, though it's been quite some time since I purchased that set. I will look to see if there's any identifying numbers or names on them when I go back to school Friday and comment again if I find more info for you.

It might be you are aware of the suffering of oterhs around you, and because your not depressed, you have a deep hidden fear that you will face the same sufferings, so your mind is telling you to bail before it happens. Whatever you do stay away from the doctors, because if you aren't depressed you will be by the time they get done with you. Nobody walks out of a doctors office without a label, that would be bad for their business, and of coarse they want you to keep coming back, and they want you to bring your friends to.

What a great list of resources for parents and teachers. As a mom of 4, I've dried lots of tears over hurt feelings, arguments, and more. Your description of a shoe "fitting" will be a great help for an issue I am dealing with right now as my 9 year old daughter keeps trying to be friends with someone, and keeps getting hurt. I'm going to try talking about how "this shoe just doesn't fit right" tonight after school. Thanks!

One more book you might like to add to this list is called Be Bigger from the Talking with Trees Series. (talkingtreebooks.com) It's about how friends end up in cycles of hurting each other's feelings. "She ignored me, so I'm going to ignore her!" types of retaliations. From my experience, children can be quite mean to each other, simply because they don't know how (or aren't confident enough) to talk through the issues. Be Bigger walks a young girl through the emotions, the words, and builds the confidence to resolve conflict without so many hurt feelings. I hope it helps other kids as much as it helped mine.
